As Volunteers Week 2017 comes to a close, ACRE wanted to take the time to say one final THANK-YOU to all volunteers, who are making England’s rural communities such vibrant and cohesive places to live.

Staff at ACRE Network organisations identify funding, support volunteers and encourage partners to work together for the benefit of rural communities; they play an extremely valuable role and one to be celebrated during Volunteers Week.

Rural Communities at the Heart of Government Policy

Following the release of the main political party’s General Election manifestos, Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) has published its ‘Election Asks’ highlighting the need for future Government Policy to be fully rural proofed.

On Monday 6 March 2017 ACRE hosted a delegation of 3 academics from Japan – Dr Shogo Kudo, Dr Yoshitaka Kumagai and Yoshitaka Ohara – whose combined expertise run the ‘Akita Age Lab’ project.
