ACRE announces 18th training event
by Deborah Clarke, Village Halls/ Rural Evidence Manager

The ACRE Network of specialist advisers for village halls and similar community buildings will hold their annual training event on 24th and 25th April in Birmingham. ACRE is pleased to announce that Norris & Fisher (Insurance Brokers) Ltd and Ansvar Insurance will be the main sponsors of the event. The introduction of a market place last year for suppliers of goods and services to village halls was a huge success and we will welcome back Utility Aid and Quick Test.

Deborah Clarke said “the volunteers who manage these buildings need specialist support, which demands time, expertise and money. Our Network of advisers is working hard to maintain this service against a backdrop of rapidly reducing funding for professional support organisations. The annual training event is a great opportunity for the advisers to get together and share ideas about how to help village halls survive and thrive”

The annual training event is in its 18th year with organisation of the programme being the responsibility of advisers from across the West Midlands. Sessions could include alternative sources of finance, better business management, self-build and design briefs as well as an opportunity to meet ACRE’s new legal advice team from BWB Solicitors.

Norris & Fisher tell us they are delighted to be joining Ansvar Insurance in sponsoring training for ACRE’s national network of advisers.
