Consultation response: Dormant Assets Fund (England)
ACRE has responded to a government consultation on a review of the Dormant Assets Fund as applied in England and recommended investment in community-owned assets.
Our response stresses the need to invest in community owned assets such as multi-use community buildings, facilities to provide health and well-being support, shops, affordable housing, energy generation schemes. These initiatives often provide social goods and services in rural communities which the market has failed to deliver due to inadequate economies of scale.
