Briefing on the contribution of rural communities to net-zero

The dispersed population of rural England can seem to be a prime example of a how we are hooked on unsustainable activities: car dependent, oil burning, intensive agriculture, low density housing etc.

In this briefing shared with ACRE members in February 2020, we discuss some of the UK Climate Change Committee’s targets to achieve net zero by 2050 with a view to the contributions that could be made by rural communities towards this end, and the barriers that will need to be overcome.
