Village Halls Grant Fund

We are pleased to be managing a grant fund on behalf of Defra to support the modernisation and improvement of rural community buildings.

A £3 million fund was originally announced by government in May 2022 to mark Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee and in the 2024 Spring Budget, this was uplifted by a further £5 million.

In 2023, over £1 million was awarded to groups with ambitious projects, many of which were concerned with improving the energy efficiency of buildings.

We are currently working with officials at Defra to reopen the main grants scheme for village halls, similar to that offered in 2023. We expect to be able to announce further details soon.

In the meantime, small grants of up to £5,000 are still available for groups wanting to undertake more modest improvements.
