Multi-million-pound investment to
support community leaders
16 June 2026
The National Lottery Community Fund has announced an exciting opportunity that will support organisations to strengthen community leadership across England.
Through its new Change Makers Partnership, the fund will invest £50 million over the next five years to help build the systems, networks and support structures that will help community leaders to thrive.
ACRE Network members will be eligible to apply as the programme aims to work with up to 12 different community-based organisations from across the country.
Successful applicants will receive funding to create sustainable support systems for grassroots leaders, particularly those with lived experience of poverty, discrimination and disadvantage, all of which are common across all parts of rural England.
Recognising that community leaders often face isolation, burnout and limited access to support, the initiative seeks innovative approaches that strengthen leadership, foster collaboration and enable communities to shape their own futures.
To help potential applicants learn more, the National Lottery Community Fund will be hosting a free online webinar on Tuesday 30 June.
