New agency appointed to assist with

LAG monitoring and reporting

16 June 2026

A new agency has been appointed by ACRE to assist with the ongoing monitoring and reporting of the Defra local action grant (LAG) agreement.

Insley Consulting’s primary role will be to use the data provided by members to produce high-quality impact reports that show the value of the various LAG-funded projects that are happening across rural England.

Members are also reminded that this year’s Defra reports must now include specific quantitative data, including the number of groups, volunteers and communities that have been supported, along with details of any other corresponding activity, such as newsletters, training sessions and stakeholder engagement.

An email was sent to all Network chief executives and Defra reporting leads on Tuesday 2 June with instructions to complete and return the LAG workbook to Paul Dixon, Rural Evidence Manager, before Friday 19 June.

More information about the LAG reporting process can be obtained by sending an email to Paul directly at p.dixon@acre.org.uk.
