New case studies highlight

impact of members’ work

The trail-blazing work of the ACRE Network has been captured in a series of new case studies.

Available to read on the ACRE website, the case studies shine a light on the practical initiatives being delivered locally that have a tangible and sustained impact on rural communities.

The various projects being highlighted have all received funding from the Defra Local Action Grant, which is the vehicle used for getting government money into the heart of rural communities.

Paul Dixon, Rural Evidence Manager at ACRE, said: “With these case studies, we’re able to lift the lid on the good work happening on-the-ground in communities right across the country.

“The Defra Local Action Grant supports members to drive forward new ways of working and implement projects that have the potential to make a real difference to the lives of rural communities.

“By publishing these accounts and celebrating success, we hope that other members take inspiration and explore how to adopt similar best practice within their own communities.”

The initial case studies focus on members’ work to support people in three key areas – health and wellbeing, affordable energy and the local economy.

From mental health cafes in Leicestershire and Rutland to improved broadband connections for village halls in Nottinghamshire, as well as everything in between, the case studies show the true value of the ACRE Network.
