Village Halls Week 2027

4 September 2026

Village Halls Week is set for a grand return in 2027.

The week-long celebration of the country’s 10,000 village halls will once again take place next year, with the festivities set to kick off on Friday 12 March 2027.

As in previous years, Village Halls Week will return with a theme that links to the vital role the essential community buildings play in everyday rural life.

From tea mornings and fitness classes to baby groups and memory cafes, village halls provide a safe and welcoming space to rural residents at every stage of their lives.

Village Halls Week aims to shine a light on the enormous contribution the buildings make to rural communities, while at the same time celebrating the thousands of volunteers who give up their free time to keep the venues up and running.

The 2026 instalment of Village Halls Week saw communities come together to highlight the ways in which their local hall supports the health and wellbeing of those walk through its doors each and every day.

Hundreds of villages across England took part in the celebrations, with events ranging from balloon volleyball in Lancashire to chocolate bingo in Derbyshire.

Further details about Village Halls Week 2027, along with information on how communities can get involved, will be shared in due course.

For now, though, save the dates and start thinking about how best to celebrate these cherished community venues that support people of all ages to thrive.
